Korean Stamp Collecting

When choosing stamp collecting as a hobby, Asian stamps such as those from Korea, are not only fantastic additions to the overall collections, but beautiful and awe inspiring. The ancient Asian world is one of mystery and appeal. The Korean stamps on the market today epitomize that appeal. Korean stamps will originate from the Republic of Korea, North Korea, South Korea, and the Korean Empire to name a few. You will also notice some stamps listed as Korean stamps originating in countries other than Korea. These stamps have either been post marked in Korea or have a heritage or history linking them to Korea.

Korean stamp collecting is an art that requires time, diligence, patience and a keen eye for detail. With the recent advent of metered postage, many countries no longer use stamps as a means of postage. This means for the stamp collector that finding authentic stamps can be harder and harder as the years pass. This is especially true for a country such as Korea. Korean stamps are highly collectible and thus the value is climbing year after year.

Korean stamps will be gathered in a various of ways. The stamps will be sold as individuals, most common with very valuable or vary rare stamps, or as collection lots. The individual stamp will be rated or graded for rarity as well as condition before a price is set on the stamp. The collection lots will be offered at a combined rate for all the stamps offered under that lot title.
