Stamp collecting is one of the most popular hobbies. In United States alone, there are more than twenty million collectors and this number is growing everyday. Stamp collecting is so popular in United States that more people are stamp collecting up as hobbies.

The prices of US stamps rose rapidly in the 1930s. Because of this many American collectors stockpiled mint US stamps with the hopes of selling them for a sizeable amount in a few years' time.
